About this resource

The aim of this lesson is to assist students in identifying physical warning signs our bodies give us when in unsafe situations.

Based on the short story “The Surfing Penguin”, students brainstorm the different warning signs our bodies give to indicate we are in unsafe or uncomfortable situations.

Students then label the Polo the Penguin diagram, identifying these signs. This can be done on the included printable diagram, or via the interactive Seesaw activity (link included).

This is an important component of the Protective Behaviours curriculum.

Included

  • Lesson plan
  • Polo the Penguin diagram
