Photoshop Bingo (Lesson Plan)

Photoshop Bingo

Photoshop is one of my favourite topics to teach! It’s incredible to see what students are able to create, whether it’s manipulating an existing photo or editing one they’ve taken themselves. However, there’s no getting around the fact that if you’ve never used Photoshop before – it can be a bit overwhelming! Particularly if you are a middle-school student. That’s where Photoshop Bingo comes in.

The idea is, instead of you being bombarded with the same questions again, and again, you pass the responsibility for learning back onto the students. Once you’ve run through the demonstrations on how to do things on Photoshop, provide each student with a Bingo card. When they forget, or are unsure how to do something on their own – encourage them to use the bingo card to find someone in the class – not you! – who can help. This way, they are developing their independent learning skills, and the other students are developing their own knowledge by teaching others. And, you get a bit of a break from all the questions. Win-win-win.
