Choosing a Movie (Media Classifications)

About this resource:

Pablo (9 years old) and Polo (14 years old) are planning on watching another movie while their parents are out. They want to make sure that the movie is age appropriate this time, and not too scary! Use your research skills to list the rating and consumer advice for each movie that is screening.

This activity is a great opportunity for students to apply their understanding of media classifications. Students can learn more about this in my Media Classifications Lesson.

This is an important lesson for students due to the growing exposure to age-inappropriate content online.

The characters included in this scenario and activity come from children’s cybersafety book, “The Surfing Penguin”.

Included:

  • Movie Screening Poster
  • Worksheet
  • Teacher Answer key
